New openings, and the odd closing
Open: Momo Nest, Ropewalk shopping centre. Handmade momos, ramen, soups and milkshakes, next to Pandora. It officially opened last weekend, and it's the first new arrival at the Ropewalk in months. CoventryLive
Reopening Fri 30 Oct: Ego at the Cedar Tree, Avenue Road. We said last week it was aiming for the end of the month. It's now confirmed for the 30th, and bookings are open. Ego
Planned in Bedworth: a shop for the Hospital Lane estate. Persimmon has asked for approval of the details for a convenience store fronting Hospital Lane, plus nine homes behind it. Ref 26/0105/ARM. CoventryLive

Council and planning news in plain English
Bedworth's new leisure hub car park. The planning committee met on Tuesday night to look at changes to the Bedworth Physical Activity Hub on Coventry Road. Wider parking bays mean 10 fewer spaces, leaving 132 (8 of them disabled bays) plus 2 for coaches. Officers recommended approval, and we'll share the decision once the council publishes it. Agenda
Leicester Road shake-up hits objections. The county council wants to swap the gyratory for a four-arm roundabout, which means buying land that includes the Empire Gym building (the old Liquid/Envy/Madisons). It needs the Government's sign-off, objections are open until 29 Oct, and the gym would move to Wheat Street. CoventryLive
Food waste bins pushed back to April 2027. The smaller lorries had a 12-month wait, so the council is buying bigger ones instead. Trial runs start in February. CoventryLive
About £300k for two tired play areas. Tiverton Drive and Chaucer Drive, both around 25 years old, are getting new equipment and accessible paths, and Tiverton gets a green gym. CoventryLive
Exhall says no to more lorries. Residents protested on Saturday over the Hall Farm warehouse. It already has outline permission, but the £3.9m junction works at School Lane haven't been approved by county highways yet. They're worried about HGVs on the walk to Ash Green and Goodyers End schools. CoventryLive
Half-term roadworks. Kingsbridge Road, Weddington is shut from the Weddington Road end Mon 26 to Wed 28 Oct, 8am to 5pm. Park View Close, Bedworth is closed Mon 26 Oct, and Brookdale Road, Nuneaton on Fri 30 Oct. CoventryLive

Local news
Bedworth's knitted Armistice tribute. The Bedworth Belles WI have yarn-bombed the town ahead of Remembrance: bollard covers, post box toppers and a life-size crochet soldier on the bench by the Peace Podium. A 90ft poppy curtain at All Saints Church could go up any day. CoventryLive
"I'm the luckiest man alive." Bedworth dad Jamie Cairns had a cardiac arrest at home in July. His wife Karie had done CPR training four weeks earlier and kept him going until the ambulance arrived. If you've been meaning to learn CPR, this is your sign. CoventryLive
Top marks for Etone College. Ofsted rated the school "strong" in all six areas under the new framework, with safeguarding met. CoventryLive
Aerosol fires near Oakwood School. Crews were called to woodland off Donnithorne Avenue on 14 Oct after children were seen running off with aerosols, and it's not the first call-out like it. Worth a word at home before Bonfire Night. CoventryLive
